Umbrellas, banners, water bottles, a marquee and training uniforms have been donated by 321 Lotto to the Vanuatu Paralympic Committee (VPC) for use by Para athletes, coaches and VPC officials and the athletes could not stop grinning with delight.
“So many of our Para athletes have a double handicap – their impairment and not having been able to go to school. This means it’s very hard for them to find meaningful, paid work. Asking their families for money to buy training unforms and shoes is just so hard. This donation by 321 Lotto sees them with multiple sets of singlets and T-Shirts for training,” commented Pamela Ryan Inclusion Officer at VASANOC and VPC Board member.
Deni Kalenga VPCs Elite Performance Coach noted: “The fold up marquee is just great! Now our VPC coaches and officials can shelter under it out of the hot sun right on the finish line to take times on the running track or record distances over near the throws area at Korman. It just makes the whole team look and feel professional.”
321 Lotto as part of their ethos to give back to the community has partnered with the Vanuatu Paralympic Committee. 321 Lotto Vanuatu pledged its support in June to the Vanuatu Paralympic Committee as they prepare their athletes for the Pacific Games in he Solomon Islands – part of a preparation pathway towards the 2024 Paris Paralympics. This partnership will involve financial contributions, logistical support, and collaboration in various initiatives aimed at enhancing the overall preparation and performance of the Vanuatu Paralympic team. The gift of the training clothes and equipment is part of this support.
