Oceania Paralympic Committee (OPC) is a Regional Organisation that provides suppport to National Paralympic Committee (NPC) members throughout the Pacific to provide oppportunities for Para athletes to participate in sport from the community level through to national, regional and world championships and the Paralympic Games.
As a member of the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) we are part of a wordwide social change movement that users the power of sport to positively influence attitudes and perceptions of people with a disability and promote a more inclusive society.
We are a charity and our vision is 'An inclusive Oceania through Para sport'.
Our purpose is 'To support Oceania nations to deliver Para sport to enable people with a disability to participate in sport'.
We provide advocacy and resource support to our National Paralympic Committee members throughout the Pacific and celebrate the achievements of people with a disability participating in community sport and all the way through to the Paralympic Games. We work with partners and stakeholders to deliver mutually beneficial outcomes and increased participation of people with a disability in sport.
We currently have 9 members; Australia, Fiji, Kiribati, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga and Vanuatu. We are wanting to increase the number of National Paralympic Committees within the Oceania region, aiming to have 17 nations participating by 2032.
